Safety standards
More and more electronic systems are used in safety-critical areas where errors can have disastrous consequences. Therefore, a careful development is a must.

Developing safety-critical systems according to special demands set down in the so-called safety standards is mandatory. These safety standards call for a lot of tests. TPT covers most of the obligatory requirements of the safety standards.

TPT can be qualified for testing and verifying with regard to standards
that regulate functional safety like ISO 26262 or IEC/EN 61508.

Testing with TPT according to ISO 26262
Concerning the automotive sector, the safety standard ISO 26262 demands a phase model for the development. This model has to respect safety-critical and functional aspects. The standard also explicitly formulates requirements for the test phase.

TPT is a tool that supports testing and verification of safety-critical software. According to the demands of ISO 26262, TPT can be used for software unit tests, software integration tests, verification of software safety requirements, and for integration testing, thus TPT can be used in all test phases. Tests can be executed in test environments like MATLAB/Simulink, ASCET, C-code, but also on PIL, HIL, and even in vehicles.

TPT can handle required test methods like requirements-based testing, interface testing, fault injection,
boundary value testing, back-to-back testing, testing equivalence classes, and coverage analysis.
